New Year, New Artists, New Artwork

Now that the Christmas rush and January ‘catch up’ is done and we’ve caught our breaths, we would like to introduce you to four new talented artists that have joined Happy Spaces this year and share their beautiful artwork with you.

Ellen Giggenbach

Ellen joins us from the other side of the world, New Zealand. She creates her beautiful designs using cut paper. We were immediately struck by her amazing style and designs which are both intricate and vibrant. We are very excited to have her on board and over the moon that she has created 4 gorgeous designs just for us.

Here she tells us how she creates her gorgeous designs: ‘I start each piece of art with just a feel for the end result. I don’t like to draw too much. To keep the idea fresh I cut, place, move and often exchange a variety of graphic shapes, which I cut from art paper that I have previously painted with acrylics in a large variety of beautiful colours and hues. In a way, developing each piece is like creating an exciting new puzzle.’

Belinda Strong

Bee also joins us from the other side of the world – this time Australia. Quirky and cool, we were instantly wowed by Bee’s style and designs and were thrilled that she agreed to join us and create three gorgeous retro beauties just for us!

Here Bee tells us a bit about her arty childhood: ‘I’ve always loved to draw, and from a very young age I would spend hours getting creative with coloured pencils. Through my childhood and teens, I tried my hand at many artistic pursuits including metal-smithing, music and dance, but found the greatest joy in illustrating.’

Liza Lewis

Liza is originally from Belgium but now lives in Southampton and works from her home studio where she creates fun, quirky illustrations and unusual children’s designs.

We love Liza’s style and her fabulous patterned designs are brimming with gorgeous little details which are just a feast for the eyes.

Liza gets lots of inspiration from her family, dog, animals, toys, music, art, fabrics and plants - anything really! She has a passion for design and enjoys infusing her work with colour, creativity and fun.

Fhiona Galloway

Another one of our home-grown talents, Fhiona, joins us from Scotland. In her work, Fhiona likes to encompass all things whimsical, quirky, decorative and delightful! She finds inspiration in cute characters and enjoys creating them too!

We adore Fhiona’s funky style and the characters she creates and instantly fell in love with the gorgeous pair of robot pals she created especially for us.
